This article is for all British gamblers. A casino gambling study was recently done by the Gambling Commission of the UK (the UK’s regulation and licensing body) and their figures show that the British are betting more and more and betting itself is becoming more accepted in society. This survey was conducted with 7,000 people in the United Kingdom.
These are the main points found from the survey…
Gambling in the UK is on the rise. 55.2% from a sample of 7,000 people gamble per month and the national lottery is the most popular form of gambling with 45.7% buying tickets and 10.8% getting scratch cards. The next most popular form of betting was betting on horses, then fruit machines (casino slots) and then private betting with friends and family. I often take bets with my brother on who will win between Manchester United and Liverpool. Com’n Utd!
A fasinating find from the survey was that 10.5% had taken part in remote gambling (online gambling or mobile phone gambling). This is an increase from the previous year.
The survey also looked at how the public viewed gambling and what was found was that 49.6% feel that it is a safe and trusted leisure activity for British folk. Us British like our sports, our beer, and our gambling… we are fun people… most of the time
